Nano Cube

Im looking at a 24 Nano. Thought it would be a "good" learning experience start and a good QT tank when Im hooked.

My only concern is the guy doesnt know if its a deluxe...he did say it was 2 years old so Im assuming its not...Is this a totally bad thing?? I know the lighting is different but he has a skimmer on it, 25 pounds of live rock with some coral for 325.00

Im open for feedback
Thanks!

Re: Nano Cube

Hi Yankee I Am -

Thoughts on the 24 Nano. First of all, I have to say I have a 24 Nano... and love it.

That said, I'm not so sure 325.00 is a good deal. You can get a brand new nanocube for $229.00:nanotuners JBJ Nano Cube

If you figure in the live rock at $5.00 @ lb = $25.00 + 229 (brand new) that would come to @ $354.00. Plus you would have warranty if anything went south on your tank (my lights fried on the hood twice, plus the older nano-cube tanks have had problems with the glass cracking).

Speaking of lights, how old are the lights in his tank? If they are over six months, they will need to be changed.

I don't know what kind of corals he has, and how healthy they are so I didn't figure the cost of this in.

Anyway, I'd check these things out before committing.
