RO/DI unit upgrade

Hey folks, this is something a person really needs to look into.
I just installed this on my RO/ DI unit:

Water Saver RO/DI

I am making a cup of product water in 20 seconds at 90 psi thru my booster pump. Here's some pics:

Sorry Scott, I couldn't wait any longer, I just had to post this.

Re: RO/DI unit upgrade

Your Flush kit looks better & neater done than mine, I think I will have to redo it as yours looks so cool

I bet it won't take long to fill that tank LOL!
Congrats man big time, I want to second this unit, it is the most efficient amount of RO/DI water to be made, less waste & lots of it, worth every penny, once you do it you will wonder why you waited so long to do so, anything over a 100g tank it is a must IMO!

Re: RO/DI unit upgrade

Thanx Scooty, the storage unit itself is 100 gallons!!!! I know for sure that I won't be able to let the thing run all day long while I am at work anymore!!! Just a for instance, I made 40 gallons a couple of days ago and it took all of 10-11 hours. At the rate I am making water now, 40 gallons should only take me 4+ hours.
I really hope that the membranes will hold to the 90 PSI that I am handing them!! The guys there told me they would, so I am gonna have to believe them until I see different.

Re: RO/DI unit upgrade

No problem for them, they are rated to handle even more than that! It will make that water rather fast when it is fully saturated

Great, another country heard from . You gotta know that as anal as I am about these things, that couldn't be true.
On a side note, I think I may be getting in touch with you later this year about some auto top-off options Don, I think I may be ready to hit the 21st century!!!!

Charlie, it looks like you can watch that tank fill, and take care of some uh business!

I read up on the system, and it looks like a substantial savings on waste water. Maybe next time I need to replace filters I'll take a look at that.

Re: RO/DI unit upgrade

Mike, I gotta tell you, I just made 43 gallons of water in 4 hours. Think I am gonna save some cash? I really still can't believe this, I guess time will tell. If you talk to the people at The Filter Guys, they are very knowledgeable, and will help you out a bunch. It isn't hard to put together, if I can do it, I know you can!

I dont know if your ready for it yet. The dual membranes are nice, sure makes water changes seem easier anyways. Ive been running four for awhile and love it. Ive got a new optical sensor that will help you really get into the 21st century.

Re: RO/DI unit upgrade

Is there somewhere I could take a look at that sensor Don? Is it a double sensor, for the lack of a better term. a low alarm and a overfill sensor?

Re: RO/DI unit upgrade

Well, as has been stated earlier here, I really think I need to break into the 21st century. My ATO consists of a five gallon salt baucket and a MJ1200. Of course, I very rarely overflow anything.

Give those guys a call Mike, they are very helpful and will tell you exactly what you need. If you are on city water, they can look up what is in your water and help you that way also.
I ordered this stuff last Tuesday, and it was on my doorstep Friday.

Nope not at all. I use them in my nasty skimmer cup. Even covered in nasty scum it shuts down my skimmer every time the cup is filled, which is the only time I ever clean it. For some reason alot of folks unfounded misconceptions about opticals. The way they function they really cant be effected by the typical problems including snails. This is why the tunze ato is such a good piece of equipment.

Yeah, I just did some reading on those. They use 2 optical sensors too, don't they. Or did I read that wrong?

Last I checked they used one optical and a back-up float.

Re: RO/DI unit upgrade

So the independant safety sensor must not be optical then huh? It does sound like a pretty trusty unit. Pricy tho.

Opticals in general are more expensive than standard floats. Your taliking $40 for a optical sensor vs $10 for a float. Of course you start adding timers, bells and whistles the $$ are going to go up. A very basic optical system will only be $30 more than the same system with a float.
