    Getting Ready; Protein Skimmer

Hi all; I started a thread of a 55 gallon reef aquarium that I starting to gather componets for and I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on a Protein Skimmer. My plan is to build my own Sump with refugium (I have to say Marc's Super Sump is the coolest set up I've seen and I'm going to try one almost identical). I figure I'm going to build the sump around the skimmer so that should be first. I plan on using a CPR CS 100 Overflow Box and a Mag 950 for the return. Does that plan seem good to this point?

    Another question...............

I'm torn between the Coralife Super Skimmer Needle 125 or Octopus 200 Needle wheel. Any thoughts?

    Thanks Tom

Seems like your on a good track. I would go for the Octopus skimmer myself simply due to the fact that you will get better services from Rob if ever needed than you would from Coral Life.

    Tom,

I agree with Scott about the Octopus Skimmers. In my experience they are a much better Skimmer with less maintenance issues. Good luck! But you seem to have a very well planned out attack.
