Re: My Tank Build

I'm not sure why that did that but the top picture is supposed to be below the bottom paragraph!

Ok, here's an update. I put the aquarium in the stand and am plumbing it now. Here's a pic of it....

Here's a closer view to show you how the rock stand fits into it....

It is for the lights. I wanted plenty of air for them and also just for the looks...

Cool! Just wanted to make sure it wasn't going to be a TV or something.

Who needs a television when you have a setup like that?

He may be a football fan!!

Looks great, I can't wait to see what the rock stand looks like when you get the rock in there. I kind of like that idea.

Re: My Tank Build

I have read a lot about it. Many people have been using it. I have never found anything negative other than a few people saying their crabs had picked it off in some spots....

I have to give it to the warranty department at Danner mag. The impeller shaft was chipped a little at the bottom on mine. I called them and told them my pump was already plumbed into my system and I could not get it apart and I would just take the impeller out and exchange it. They said they would get it to me.... To make a long story short. I got home today and a brand new Mag 36 was on my door step! No charge and no send back! That's warranty!

Boy that thing will really be rockin with all those outputs. Great job so far! I have heard of using that paint before, but I am still hesitant. (Old school I guess.)

Re: My Tank Build

You will probably get a bunch of those until the plumbing gets broke in (slimed up) a bit. I would give it a week at the most to settle down. Don't worry!!!!

I don't think you understand!!!!!! It looks like the water is cloudy there is so many. You can see the exact flow of every inlet. Do you think I might be suckin air somewhere???

Re: My Tank Build

Take a look...... That "haze" is all micro bubbles

Do I need to rework the sump and add another set of baffles or do you think it's more along the line of sucking air?

Re: My Tank Build

Chuck, why did you put the air hose on your drain pipe just above your sump? I remember you did it but can't remember why.
I changed the pump out with the new one and it helped some. It was leaking around the plate. I still have tons of micros though....

Re: My Tank Build

Where is the return from the tank itself? Is it submerged? If you are sucking air somewhere, you have to begin the unenviable task of figuring out where. Are those locline gate valves glued?
