:slap:

Like I said on the phone you may be better off to put a T behind each bulkhead with a standpipe for air running up the backside of each overflow and having each drain be seperate instead of joining like mine does. You can get this worked out though. That's the fun of plumbing.

Re: My Tank Build

Plumbin is fun but problems suck! I tried this out with one T on each before the sump. It helped some so maybe another will be even better. I also have an idea of putting the 1.5" pipe inside a 3" and drilling a bunch of small holes in the 1.5". Most water would go out the bottoms and the bubbles will just bubbles and rise out of the top. I don't have a picture, it's just an idea I will try. I hope you can visual to see what i'm talkin about...... Anyway, I am gonna try that in the next few days when I can get to it to try. I pulled my sump and am redesignin it and adding more baffles....

Re: My Tank Build

Well, nothing else is working. I'm havin to redo the sump so while the silicone is dryin, i'll do that. I'm gonna do everything I can to get rid of the bubbles. The water flies through the sump and takes the micros right with it. They never have time to get out.... I'm just sittin here lookin at it anyway. Might as well be doin somethin..... I'm super frustrated....

Re: My Tank Build

You might find that you can never get rid of them with that much flow running through that size of a sump. Do you have a smaller pump you can try out quickly before you go through all this other trouble? What happens with like a Mag 9?

Re: My Tank Build

I don't really have a smaller pump I can try although i throttle that pump way back and it helps quiet a bit. The trouble is still in the sump. I only had 3 baffles and the first one was over and that sucked a lot down under the next baffle. I played around and added one before that was an under and it helped a ton at wide open. So I'm redoing my sump tonight, its already tore apart! I'm starting with an under to an over, under and then another over which will go to the rock holding spot. After that, just before the intake on the pump, should i go with another under or over? I'm thinkin under cause the last one was an over and it sucked the bubbles from the top down...

Re: My Tank Build

I think I would go ahead and add at least a few more baffles to ensure you don't have a problem after the rebuild. So under, over, whatever, go ahead and add enough.

Re: My Tank Build

Whatever you do don't make the last baffle an under. If for some reason bubbles still make it through the other baffles that you will be adding an under will definately allow the pump to get them.

Re: My Tank Build

The new sump works wonders but i'm still put bubbles in the tank... The baffle going under first works miracles with the high flow as well as my bubble busters as I call them.... (pics to come) Guys I have put silicone on EVERY joint in my plumbing and even around the cover on the Mag 36. If the dang bubbles are still there then it's ment to be and whatever goes in the tank will just have to live with it and if it don't, I'll throw the whole thing out in the yard and put goldfish in it!!! I've got my sand in it right now and putting the water to it.... PRAY for me!!!! lol

Re: My Tank Build

Well, on to the next problem.... I went to start filling my tank and when I tested the water the TDS reading is about the same as the tap water.... Help me out here guys. I have hardly used this thing. It's only a few months old.

Re: My Tank Build

Did you allow time for the membrane and the di cartridges to flush?

Is the TDS meter calibrated?

Re: My Tank Build

The TDS worked fine before. It's Chucks meter so you'll have to ask him about that stuff. I don't know how to calibrate it I don't guess. It used to show zero and now it's reading the same as tap water. I checked it with some bottled water and it was lower so it has to be the RO. I've checked it from tap, before the DI, and after the DI... It all reads about the same... I also let it run for like 5 minutes and then tried it again and it still checks out the same...

Re: My Tank Build

Sounds like it might be worth some new cartridges and a membrane just to be safe.

Re: My Tank Build

If it has been sitting a long time without being used, you are either going to have to flush the system, or like Scott says, get new filters.

Re: My Tank Build

Ok, got it figured out. I have been talking with Mark Bunner at Abundant Flow Water Systems (where I got my RO/DI) all day. We've sent more than 5 emails to each other all today getting me lined out. What happened was that I had no membrane! It was an accident at the factory... They are sending me replacements... I have to wait but at least I know what was wrong and I can't say enough about the customer service I got from Abundant Flow Water Systems!
