Wow, I am glad it was that easy of a fix. No membrane huh???? That could be funny.
Glad you got things figured out though![]()

Looks like i'm stuck untill at least Monday on filling up! Is there anywhere that I might get one locally?
The only things I've seen locally are carbon block and sediment filters. I'm glad you guys got it figured out though.

Me too, it just sucks to watch it set there the rest of this week and the weekend before I get to fill it!
Just for grins, if you have a Culligan store near you, give them a call.

I buy all my RO water from culligan (.33/gal). I need to just go ahead and brake down and buy a RO unit I just haven't yet, it would probably pay for itself within a year (prob less if you count the gas, time, and hassle carting around 25 gallons of water each trip lol).
Lol, probably so! The nearest culligan is at St. Louis Charlie.... I think i'll just wait till Monday!!!
Drip.... Drip...... Drip........ it is about that slow but it's fillin up!!!!
Oh and when do I put my live rock into it after I have it filled up? Do I wait long or put it in right now?
You can put the liverock in as soon as the salinity, temp and pH are correct.
Sweet.... What about the cycle process? I know the sand will have to go through it but will it be a big swing since all the rock is already live?
The best way to seed your sandbed is to get a few cups from me and anyone else that you know who has a healthy one. The LR will also seed it. You may see some die off and small spikes in the water chemistry but your rock is cured out pretty well. The entire system will have to cycle though not just the rock. The beneficial bacteria populations will have to colonize everything. I'd still monitor it closely for a while and would want to see 0's across the board before adding anything.

Ok, sounds good... Any of you deal with Coralvue? I can't get them to email me back about my ballast....

No, not yet, I tried another email this earlier and if no reply I will call...
OK......... water is flowin.... Temp is just right.... Ph is great........ Here are the pics!!!
The little bag you see is a mesh laundry bag that I put around the "bubble busters" to catch junk from the overflows.... It was nasty by the end of the night!

Looking good kgeorge!I must admit that when I read the first couple posts and saw pics I was a little sceptical about how the foam on the back wall thing would turn out, but it turned out pretty awesome. Sorry I didn't see this post early enough to help pitch in on your micro bubble problems. Are you going to use a skimmer in that sump? If not, my recommendation based on the size of the sump would've been to not put any baffles in it since you would be placing LR in the sump or at least make the first section wider and the first drop lower. That would help filter out bubbles.
The only reason you would really need a high baffle is to keep the water level constant due to a skimmer. I've found in the past that when you give the bubbles more surface room and less turbulence (high up and down baffles) it filters itself out much better. My new sump is a 40 breeder and only has 1 high baffle due to a skimmer. The only drop is 14" high and has another 20" to go before reaching the return. Any bubbles are sure to rise to the top by then. HTH
