Re: Hydor Koralia powerheads

I bought two smallest size koralia and hate them so far. They never restart properly after I turn them off when feeding tank. I wonder if it's only the smallest size that have this problem but I am ready to pull them out and put Tunze's back on.

Re: Hydor Koralia powerheads

I had a bit of a problem with the start up the first time on one of my koralia 4's but that was the only time, since then they have started up just fine every time. I am a month or 1 1/2 mo. into them and so far so good, still a very strong current, still very pleased with my purchase but if anything goes down prematurely I'll be the first to say so and that there crap, but until then I'm still loving them

Well, I have to take back what I said. They both died on me within a week of each other.

Re: Hydor Koralia powerheads

I always thought they were pretty good...other than the restart after unplugging/power failure is a little rough but then with them both crapping out on me within a week and I had only had them since February. I could understand it if I never cleaned them but I cleaned them once a week to make sure nothing was collecting in them. Oh well....

Re: Hydor Koralia powerheads

I got a several Koralia 2 and 1 (first two in 10/06). I have used them for one year and have no problem. I don't use them on a timer and do not turn them off for feeing or anything like that. I have not even open them to clean and they are full of coralline algae.
When I change water, I do turn them off but did not have any problem with restart at all. I guess I am just lucky.

Re: Hydor Koralia powerheads

jkeithh1969,
Koralia have tiny washers that I think is essential for the long term function of the PH. Are you aware of this? It is possible that you lost them when you clean the PH.
