Re: Water Quality in Orlando?

I would get a TDS meter and test it out....And if you want to really get into it, then I would join ORCA it is the Orlando Reef Club Association heres the link
Orlando Reef Caretakers Association
These guys are GREAT This has been my most favorite reef club EVER! Aquatic Reef Systems and Air Water and Ice are both sponsors of the club there locally and could help you out too im sure. I could almost guarantee you would find all your answers and some if you went to one of their meetings, and you would have a blast too! HTH

I think a TDS meter is an inexpensive way to know if your adding quality water to the tank. Look for a Hanna hand-held tester.

Hope to see you at the next ORCA meeting. I'm Russell
Does your R.O. have a TFC mem.?
Again a TDS meter is a great way to get an idea were your water stands.
The chart is great if you have the same water and R.O as when they tested.

Re: Water Quality in Orlando?

Water quality is very bad. Orlando water is loaded with Phosphates..
and all sorts of other crap!

I used water from a place called "Water to Go" over on Kirkman rd.
in Metrowest. Its in the walmart plaza over by Petland. The owners name
is Leo..hes always in there.

Its 12 stage Filtered RO that is also ran through a UV..and injected with
Ozone. Its .49 cents a gallon or $1.75 for 5 gallons. They can even raise
the DKH for you too. To do that its .70 cents a gallon.

I never had any problems using this water. You can go to Lowes and get
containers to transport it in. I got 6 five gallon tubs with lids. They are $3
a piece.

The plaza is one light before "Aquarium Fanatics" if you are familer
with that LFS. If not check it out well you are over..Ross and Harold
are the owners.. Also Saltwater Reef is is about 5 miles past that on
Kirkman too..

Also if you are ever over by 408 and Gaston Foster rd...Check out one of
the best Saltwater shops in Orlando...called Sea in the City, marcey is the
owner and she is awesome! Her store has the best, most healthest livestock
ive ever seen. Most of my reef tank is from from her store.
