Spa Flex

Has anybody here done a whole bunch with this stuff? Is it pretty easy to glue to a regular PVC fitting, something that I have never done.
I know it can be tough to form to a particular need, but once you get it there and glued, have any of your connections ever come unglued or leaked?

Charlie,
Its pretty easy to use. I've found that the Kristy's Red Hot glue works the best...No leaks ever using Red Hot, I have had a few leaks using primer and glue

I can use PVC primer and glue though, right? It is just that I have that sitting around. Maybe I should make a call to one of the hot tub guys around here and ask what they use?

I have and it leaked..Knowing what I know now I would only use Kristy's Red Hot...From what I have read there is a special primer glue for spa flex...Kristy's is just so easy to use.

Looks like I will have to go in search of. I am sure that Home Depot or Lowe's will have it.

Im a pool and spa guy for 8 yrs. Spa flex, which i assume is sch 40, is very durable. We use it in all our pools and spa we build. I did actually use it on my tank and has been doing just fine. You can use just a regular pvc glue and primer, but the trick with the flex is to be sure that you dont over glue it. Clean the flex and the fitting well with the primer and ler it dry, should only take a minute or less. Then apply a thin even amount of glue to the flex and the fitting put the two together and give it a small turn to smooth glue in any areas that werent fully covered. Hold the fitting together for about a minute, depending on room temp. and it should be fully dry and ready to water test in about 10-15 minutes. I never have any leaks with it. it just seems tricky to new plumbers cause they want to over glue and then it can slip out if not held in place for long enough. Good luck.

I used it almost everywhere on my tank. It hasn't leaked at all. To be safe, I put a small bead of silicone on every joint where the sch 40 fitting meets the spa-flex just for assurance....
