Re: Poly-Filters ?

Are you just talking about some kind of filter floss?

Re: Poly-Filters ?

I use a 100 micron filter sock on the outlet of the sump drain when cleaning, it catches all the loose particles, clears up the tank but I don't leave it on more than a day if that. I use it while blowing off rocks, cleaning things or just to polish off the tank & make it all sparkely & new

Re: Poly-Filters ?

Ahh, well the sock isn't a floss either, where do you plan on using it or should I say how?

Is it like I see on the site where you maybe pump water through it from your tank?

It's basically a phosphate sponge of sorts.

Re: Poly-Filters ?

They do work and have been around for years. They are not a cost effective way to remove P. GFO's are probably the most cost effective solution short of lanthanum chloride.

Re: Poly-Filters ?

Granular Ferric Oxide, Phosban and Rowa Phos are both example of GFO's
