Two broken heaters - advice needed

I have had two heaters break in the last two weeks and I am guessing it is because my holding tank is in an unheated garage and the winter chill is too much for the heater to battle. I have thought of some options, but am not sure which one is best so I was hoping some of you might have already had this experience and I can learn from your wisdom. I was thinking possibly if I bought a heater that was a higher wattage it might be able to better handle it (I have tried a 25 watt and 50 watt since the holding container is just 10 gallons)? Or possibly I need a better insulated container? I am using just a regular container from Target that one might store outgrown clothes in.

These are the only ideas I have come up with so far, any thoughts?

Thanks!

Re: Two broken heaters - advice needed

What brand of heaters are you using. My office is not heated at night and drops below freezing so I use a 250w in a 20g tank. @ 250w it still works fairly hard when its 40 in the office.

Wow Don! I bought them at Petco and I was at another store today whee I purchased a Visi Therm by Marineland that came highly recommended. I only got a 50 watt though so maybe I do need a higher wattage after hearing your story?
