How to remove Loc-line pieces

Can someone tell me how to remove a loc-line piece? I have the pliers to attach new pieces, but cannot figure out how to remove the existing.

Thanks

Re: How to remove Loc-line pieces

Pull really hard. They come apart eventually. The tool works in reverse too.

Before I got the pliers, I used channel locks.

Re: How to remove Loc-line pieces

I had to get the tools for the locline. I was tired of cracking them...once they have been in a system for a long time you may have to clean them really well with vinegar before removing them. The algae can bind them together.

I have the pliers, but haven't figured out how to use the pliers to seperate them. Other than that I haven't seen any other tools for sale.

Re: How to remove Loc-line pieces

The pliers are "tools" that I mentioned but each locline size has its own set of them. I don't think they are made to take the locline apart once it's together but I've been able to pull some apart by hand.

modularhose.com - Loc-Line Modular Hose says that they aren't for disassembly.

Re: How to remove Loc-line pieces

I just bend them at the joint I want to take apart. They usually pop open that way. It does get tough when you only have two pieces left though..... Upon reassembly, apply a really thin layer of 100% silicon grease to the joints. It make s them much easier to get apart in the future.
