What type of Mech filter ?

I'm just wondering what type of mech. filters are people running. I'm currently not running one, and think I need to run some sorta mech. filter.

Protein skimmer and the occassional filter floss.

I'm sorry I was discounting the Skimmer. I am running a pretty large octopus recirc skimmer. It works really well. I'm just not running any floss of any source. I do have a ocean clear that I only run for circulation right now, about to use that for my chemical media.
