Costco RO unit
I found a Costco RO unit for $200 and was wondering if anyone had any experience with the Watts Premier unit? I have read some posts here and there was a recommendation for a 75 gpd membrane for a higher rejection rate and this unit has a 350 gpd membrane (the post was in 2000 so might be old info) which might be too high?
Also, we want a system that will work for our drinking water and the aquarium, what considerations do we need to make and is this possible? Is it best to have an RO/DI or will just an RO work? Thanks in advance! Nikki

Re: Costco RO unit
Hi Nikki,
If you are thinking of combining home usage and usage for your tank I would recommend getting an RO/DI unit, with a bypass of DI for drinking water. DI strips water of electrolytes that your body needs, but your aquarium will need the DI stage, so bypassing it with a storage unit for drinking is the best way to do it. Check some of our sponsors that sell filters for aquariums and drinking in a single unit. Here's a 5-stage unit that is not much more than the price you mentioned. Zhenya,
Thank you very much, that looks like exactly what we need :-) I will check out all the sponsors and get this next step implemented. Regards, Nikki

Re: Costco RO unit
Beware of the mis-configured ebay systems that route DI water through the final GAC stage. Make sure you get a system with a refillable, full size, vertical DI stage.
