I purchased a 100 gpd home / aquarium RO-DI unit a few weeks ago and had a friend hook it up. This was his first time. He is a plumber.
Well, after he hooked it up I drank the water and have been using it for evaporation loss and water changes in my 90 reef tank.
I purchased a TDS meter and tested it today and it tested 117! the same as my tap water.
Pressure going through the membrane is to high most units use 70-75 psi through the membranes and the temp from 75-78 degrees.
How long have you been running the unit and is it flushed out?
Plumbed correctly?
DI is bad?
TDS meter is faulty. Is there someone in you area that you can test it with.
What is your TDS out of the faucet compared to the TDS in your Effluent flow?
Hi

TDS Meter I bought new at flea market this sunday ??

Please provide soem additional information and we should be able to help.
What is your tds readings at the following locations?
Tap water: (your reported 117 ppm)
RO water:
DI water: (you reported 117 ppm)
Suggest you get a pressure gauge add on kit - these gauges don't come as standard equipment on the ebay systems, but it is difficult to troubleshoot a system without knowing if you have enough pressure.
Its kind of like trying to troubleshoot someone's vehicle problems if they don't have a gas gauge.
Have you checked to make sure there is an RO membrane in the RO membrane housing?
Maybe your RODI vendor will join in this conversation and help too.
