Coralife Skimmer Problems

I have a Coralife HOB Skimmer set up and we are about 4 months into or tank setup so this has been running for quite some time now. Anyway, the chamber that the bubbles are produced in is filling up with micro bubbles completely now. Most of the bubbles used to float upwards to collect at the top but now it's so bad that i can not even see through the water at all because of the bubbles. Does anyone have any idea why the skimmer would all of the sudden start acting this way? There have been no recent change to the water or the tank?
Also, there is a outflow cup with sponges to collect the extra micro bubbles but there are just too many for it to work effectively. literally i have a waterfall of bubbles moving through my tank.

Please help, i'm not sure what to do?????

Re: Coralife Skimmer Problems

Bubbles in a skimmer is a good thing, the more the better. For HOB skimmers this is a problem though because there is no way to catch them all. So it is a "glass half full" kind of thing. More bubbles in the skimmer is good, more bubbles in the tank is bad.

Re: Coralife Skimmer Problems

The Prizm series skimmers by Red Sea are very good and I have not seen alot of bubbles in the tank itself.
