Hi,
I've been using a Korallin C1501 converted to a C1502 for awhile now, and I was using the micro pump for the input, but I think this pump is underpowered for the job. Gravity feed fed the reactor chamber faster than the pump did. I was considering using a MiniJet 404 for the job. Anybody have any other recommendations??? Thanks in advance!

I have the 1502 and do not use a pump to feed, gravity has been working well.

Hi Lee,
Thanks for your respone. I was just considering using a pump to help keep a constant flow on the line, rather than relying on just gravity. Have you had any problems with gas accumulation with this reactor??? I know several people have complained of this. I'm currently using 15 bubbles/minute and sixty drops per minute on the effluent. I do get a buildup, over about a two week period. I've talked to Ed at M3 on several occasions, and everything I've tried from him has not worked too well. I can use the second ouput, to prevent the buildup, but there is no CO2 safety shutoff using this port. I'm curious what your results have been?

Hey Ted,
I have only had gas build up a couple of times, only when my bubble rate was over 25, I currently run between 18-20/bpm, and about 100 dpm. My tank is a 125, my dKH has been a consistant 12, and calcium is 450+. What pressure do you keep your tank regulator at?

I'm currently using 15 bubbles/minute CO2, and 72 drops/minute on the effluent (just checked). Current effluent pH is 6.59, tank pH is 8.21, tank dkh is 10.6, and calcium is at 420. I'm only running a 58 gal Oceanic, but I've been slowly adding more SPS corals, and other LPS corals, so calcium consumption is on the rise!

Does your effluent drip rate slow down periodically as well? Do you use the supplied pinch valve on your reactor, or have you adapted something different???

I use the 1501 with the screw-in pinch valve. My effluent does drop off from time to time. I used to have a constant problem with CO2 buildup. I finally got a 2nd chamber plumbed to the first via the exhaust port of #1. Now any excess is pushed to the 2nd chamber and out of the system. Not the way it was designed but it works.

Hi Steve,

How did you setup the second chamber? What I mean is, did you use the 1st output to setup you effluent drip rate/CO2 bubble count, and then just take that ouput to the second chamber? I just ordered a second chamber from MyReef today, as a matter of fact!
