Bubbles from wet-dry in tank
I have an Amicacle wet-dry filter with a Aqua-C remora skimmer and Mag-5 pump and Iwaki return pump. Lots of air bubbles are entering the tank on the return. I have a gate valve controlling the flow from the Iwaki. Adjusting it only controls the rate of flow but not the amount of air bubbles. I don't see any other things to adjust and my water level covers the pump into the skimmer. Does anyone have any suggestions as to why I can't get the air bubbles under control?

Hi johnf!
The problem lies with you not having anything to remove the bubbles, such as a series of baffles prior to the return pump. The bubbles come from various sources such as standpipe drains and skimmers. Without some baffling (I use under, over, under) this is probably going to be a continuous problem.

What is a baffle? I could not see anything listed in my aquatics catalogue. Is this something you make? Thanks.

I did a search for "baffles" and found other threads on the subject of air bubbles. I guess I should have done this first. Lots of good information.
