55 gallon tank Ideas

Hi everyone, Im just starting and was told this is a great place. I look through the galleries but really want to just focus in on pictures of FOWLR 55 gallon tank photos. I really need some good ideas on how to make best use out of such a small width tank. Any pictures would help for ideas and enjoyment

Tips would also be appreciated on how to build up in tight space.

I have a standard 55 and if you plan to use a decent amount of rock, it's tough. I originally built it using big rock on the bottom and smaller on top, using the back glass as support. This worked well for a solid foundation but I had no way of cleaning the back glass and probably interfered with the water flow.

In order to avoid the back glass, you have to somehow still buid like a pyramid but keep everything balanced. It's tough. I spent multiple nights, totalling over 5 hours, just setup up the rock. This was a few weeks back and I am still tweaking it every fews days.

My trick - I am not a fan of laying a complete foundation across the tank, then adding a second level of rock. I would start with a foundation of 2 or 3 rocks on one side of the tank and build up a bit to the second level. Once you have a section which is solid and looks good, now add more of the foundation to begin working across the tank. After you add a new section for foundation, build up. This way as you buid up, you already have a solid foundation but also have support on the side on the second level which helps as well.
