CA Reactor?

Hi,
I may be interested in purchasing a CA reactor but before I did I wanted to read some opinions. How exactly does a CA reactor work? Are they necessary? Ballpark figure for a decent CA reactor? Any info. will help.

Thanks,
Joe

A calcium reactor uses CO2 at a slow rate to lower the pH in the reactor to a point that causes the media to dissolve. They will maintain a solid calcium and alk level in your reef. They are not necessary but time saving and long-term money saving.

If you get a good diy made from geo or myreef it will cost alittle over $300+ with co2 stuff. The store brands costs $300+ just for the reactor I have a duel geo and am happy with it. There others also who would suggest the same. reactors are just a place to hold media and seems the diy work pretty good especially for the $$ And you can get them made to the size you want
