I am thinking about adding a controller to my setup, I have a very disheveled mass of extension cords, timers....gotta be some sort of fire hazard! I also want to do a better job of monitoring my water parameters, so I want to add pH & OPR probes to what I'm doing. Anybody have an opinion (preferably information based) on standard grade vs lab grade pH & ORP probes, considering cost, ease (or lack of ease) of calibration, how well the probe stays calibrated, durability, accuracy, perhaps differences in various brands of probes. A big part of what I'm trying to find out is what exactly do you get for the higher price? If everything else is identical but you get "more accurate information", the question begged then would be "Is the information significant?"...does it help you make better water management decisions, or do you simply know a value to the 0.01 or 0.001 decimal place rather than 0.1, but it turns out that information is not all that useful in the scheme of things. thanks!
