I would go with the Eheim Professional. Its rated for a larger amount of water and uses less power.

ehiem costs 276 euros
and tetratec cost 145 euros

276 euros?
Holy crap. I just got back from Italy where they have 4 euro cokes, but thats just ridiculous. Check out ebay, The 2075 is roughly 250-300 dollars.
hi..yeah i know they are a bit expensive. im from malta...i checked ebay but unfortunately they dont ship to malta. when u compare everything including the price u still go on eheim??
thanks

yes, i would still go with eheim.
Better quality parts and materials.
On top of that, Tetra has a very spoiled and F'ed up reputation when it comes to their overall business. ie, the nemo debacle of a few years back.
everything i have used by tetra is now in the trash or was taking back to the store a few days later, there is no quality in their products.
hi thanks for your suggestions...but i bought the eheim professional 3 model 2075 from ebay...and its works great silent and powerful with low power consumption
Let us know how it works out.

for now its really good..its running for 3 days now...so still early but it seems to be a good filter...eheim is always eheim
hi all...so my set up is the main tank which is 50 gallons (135cm x36cm x 36cm) and its been for 4 days running now..its in the secret cycle. In it i have....
local live rock,
live sand and
local sea water.
the water from the main aquarium overflows by a DIY overflow system to a sump under the main tank. in the sump i have
bioballs (wet and dry)
activated carbon
and haqos protein skimmer with a pump of 1850 l/h
and power head to bring the water again in the main tank
with this system i have an extra external eheim professional 3 filter with the power of 1250l/h
and soon with a hood of 3 tubes 2 white and actnic blue.
this is a test...and im going to put local marine fish and life.
thanks
Interesting, let us know how it works out.
Keep an eye on your nitrate levels though as bio-balls, as well as canister filters, are both known to elevate nitrate levels with prolonged use in a closed marine system. If you start having problems with nitrates later on down the road, remove the balls and cans gradually and see if it improves.
