    Need Your Input!!!

    Hey all,
ive been doing freshwater aquariums for 4 or 5 years(successfully) and have been reading up about saltwater because now thats what i want to do.
my plan is to get a biocube 14 because to me it seems like the best option but i want opinions, what kind of enclosed tank with lights and filter would you get if not a biocube. I want to be able to have live rock and some fish to so would the light of the biocube, two Coralife compact fluorescent lampsand lunar blue LED lights, be enough?
    Give me your input thanks

Welcome to Reefland!!! Glad to have you!!

If you're looking for an AIO (All in one) enclosed system, Bio-Cube, Aqua Pod, Salona etc. are all great options. Salona is in the higher end and a much nicer system IMO. Bio-Cube and Aqua-Pod are very similar. We have an Aqua Pod 24 gallon, with the 150 MH Sunpod light upgrade.

The lighting that comes, stock, with either of these AIO units, is more than enough for any soft coral and quite a few, if not most LPS corals. You could probably even get away with growing some Montipora digitata SPS corals.

You will want to look at doing some simple modifications, no matter which AIO you get. They work great for freshwater planted tanks. However, as a reef tank, there's some modifications that are almost necessary, for increasing flow and getting more biological filtration. The first, foremost and easiest modification is to take it out of the box, remove the bag that holds all the bio-balls, walk to your nearest garbage can, and throw said bag away!!

I'm not as familiar with the Bio Cube as I am with the Aquapod. However, here's a link to when we put together Angie's Aquapod. It shows a lil' of the modification we made. We have about 1500 gph of flow in it...lol. Reef Frontiers

Then, I'd also suggest Nano-Reef.com Forums mainly because it's an entire forum, specifically dedicated to Nano tanks. There's even separate forums set up, specifically for each brand of AIO system. BTW, I'm returnofsid over there as well...lol.
