    RO/DI unit suggestions

I am trying to decide what RO/DI unit to buy for my 75 gallon tank with a 50 gallon sump. My city's water is rated as a 35 on a scale of 100, higher being better, but I can't find any information on what the actual breakdown of the chemicals in the water is. I will just assume it has a fairly normal composition, for a small city. I am looking at the following RO/DI units, and wanted to hear from other people who have used these types before.

    1. The Filter Guys Ocean Reef 5 stage RO/DI 75 gpd

    2. Kent's 24 gpd Maxxima.

Both are around the same price, the ocean reef system claims to process more water per day, but I think 24 gallons from Kent is still plenty for my tank (1 or 2 gal per day for topoff, then maybe 20 every week for water changes at maximum).

Can anybody who has used these units comment on them? Also, if anyone has suggestions for other units I should look at, feel free to list them. Thanks

the Filter guys unit is good, if they are about the same price, which one would you want if you would happen to upgrade to a larger tank.

For fairness since somebody accused me of working for The Filter Guys, you had better check on Bulk reef supply also.
If it was me, I would get the bigger unit for the same price.

    Re: RO/DI unit suggestions

A forum is somewhere that people state opinion’s and is also an informal means of communication. They are by no means a place of facts because no 2 instances are exactly the same in most cases. I’m not an expert on any matter and especially Salt water tanks and RO/DI units. I’m just learning the hobby now, just like many people here. Not to say that I can’t read and do my homework on items before I make a purchase. I too had the same questions about RO/DI units a few months ago and I took the advice of some here and I’m glad I did. I’m sure there are other great companies out there that have great units and great support; however I can only speak of my personal experience in which I did. I was unclear on rather or not anyone wanted to hear a play by play of every experience of my dealings with the Filter Guys, but I will be glad to PM you all the information to keep everyone on this forum from having sort through all the crap to get the actually facts which I have already stated. I will close by saying one more statement that I truly believe is true about any SW setup and that is you get what you pay for. Sure you can beat any price by shopping around on ebay or thrift stores but you will lose in the long run. That is why I trust the people’s OPINION on this forum to help direct me and save money in the long run. You can learn a lot from other people mistakes.
