    Aquarium stand

    Hello All,

I recently purchased a 90 g. tank, canopy and stand. All produced by "All Glass Aquariums" Everything looks good. I had no problems with plumbing etc. However, this is the first time using a purpose built wood stand. My last stand was a typical metal stand. I would like some feedback from the forum on how safe these stands are? How do they hold up? What to look out for? and is there any prep work I should do to the stand prior to filling it?

    Thanks for the help,
    john1948

I know it is hard to believe, but the stand that came with the tank, will be just fine. I had an 80 gallon all glass with the stand for 11 years and now a lady in our club has the same tank and stand. My preference of course would be a stand that would hold up a jeep, but you'll be fine.

Thanks Charlie, That's reassuring. How does the wood around the tank hold up to occasional water spills? any wilting of the wood or anything?

Occasional spills? You really mean floods, don't you?

It held up just fine, I usually tried to wipe things up pretty quickly, but there were those times when......................... well you know.

Thanks Again Charlie. I have to tell you though, my wife did not think the part about floods was very funny

She is gonna find out I have a pretty warped sense of humor!!!!! But I understand. Just tell her I have a 300 gallon, so I don't talk in spill language!!!

This tank isn't gonna be on carpet, is it
