    Ro/di unit

    Good Day All,

I'm getting ready to start-up my 90g. I have all the equipment I think I will need to get started, refugium, protein skimmer, lighting etc., and will be purchasing live rock and sand in a week or so. While waiting for the LR and sand, I decided to give my RO/DI unit a test run. My RO/DI unit is a "5 stage plus" from Bulk Reef Supply. Everything seems to operating properly, however, the DI canister is only about 1/4 full during the operation. Is this normal? My pressure valve reads 42 psi. I think this should be higher (50 psi)? If so, what can I do to increase the psi? Also, should all canisters empty when finished?

    Thanks,
    john1948

    That's normal

The main thing to check for is 0 TDS on the output. Run the first 50 gallons or so down the drain before you start testing or adding water to your system since the unit is new. Also do this when you replace cartridges.
