Protein skimmer types!

I have been looking all around the place for a protein skimmer and i would like to know which types are the most effective (Down draft, needle wheel, venturi, spray, cone, etc.) a brief explanation of how each one works and which types work best would be great! i am running a 90 gal reef tank and i would also like to know a ballpark size i would need based on the skimmer's maximum aquarium size. maybe like a rule of thumb like 15% of tank volume, etc. also, any advice on specific brands or places to buy will be great help as well. Oh, and money is sort of an obstacle so nothing that will break the bank. lol

I'm no expert but you should get one rated at 200% of tank volume not 15%,getting a Prizm skimmer would be more than 15%.You need one rated for a 200gal.tank,as far as types I read a report lately that said they all work well.A skimmer is the most important piece of equipment for a reef,don't skimp on a skimmer.
