Octopus Protien Skimmers

I am currently working on my first tank. Its a 100 gallon 60x18 tank. When it came to skimmers I did my research and saw that the octopus extreme 200 was a pretty good bang for my buck. Cheapest I have found is around 289. Coralvue just came out with the super reef 2000 which is rated for a 200 gallon tank aswell. It has a bubble blaster pump which I hear is pretty good upgrade from the original pump. So my question is, Is the super reef worth the extra cost or can I get buy with the Extreme? As for what I will be putting in the tank are about 4-6 fish with some coral. Thanks for the help.

The octo xtreme 200 is a proven skimmer. The bubble blaster pump is pretty sexy though. I don't think you'd be unhappy with either one. The bubble blaster pump gets quite a bit more air draw in it, but, people have raved about the octo xtreme 200 so I would think you could do more than just get by with it. The bubble blaster uses a little less energy than the Sicce but probably not 60 dollars worth in its lifetime. So, as Steve would say, buy a Royal Exclusive Alpha Cone 170 (sorry Steve, that's still funny)
