Pump for Closed Loop

I took some really good advice some months ago and setup my 125gal AGA in my garage to test out plumbing and my closed loop.
I have 2 genx mak4's, 1 for return from sump and other for closed loop. I hooked it up for the first time a couple nights ago and it is just to weak. I am splitting water into a Tee with sprinkler valves on each end driven by a tsunami. This part works great!! The tsunami alternates the valves back and forth and I have a manifiold on opposites ends of the tank. But the mak4 is to weak for the amount of flow I want.
Ok, I am considering the Ampmaster 3000 and wanted some advice from people using this pump in a similar setup.
I think someone is using this pump in a closed loop with SS's.
If I go with the Ampmaster, I will use 1.5" inlet and 1" out to my valves.
I have figured out thast my foothead is about 10 ft.
Will I get sufficient flow out of this? or do I need a high pressure pump like a Iwaki MD100?

Go to www.dolphinpumps.com and you check on the amp master but I believe at 10' head you will get around 1800 gph you way want to go with the iwaki high speed. With a 1" outlet you will cut the water flow in half acording to thier web site with a max of 1560 gph at 0 head. To get max flow out this pump you pretty mush have to go with 1 1/2 in and out plumbing.

Thanks. I went to the website and emailed them a question: "What would be the max flow using 1.5" pvc in and 1" pvc out.?"That is a combo of the 2 flow rates that they talk about.
The Iwaki md 100 might be better choice accept is uses way more power at almost 400watts compared to 126 watts of the ampmaster.

I think I read in a post(s) that golfish uses this in a closed loop. Maybe he can tell me how much flow he is getting out of the ampmaster.

I am using a ampmaster on a closed loop. The head is around 6ft and I have it splitting into (4) 3/4 lines from the (1)1-1/2" line. I would estimate I am getting atleast 3000gph, and I think the ampmaster is rated 3600 @ 5ft of head. I do not have them into SS or sprinklers.

Yes, I have an Amp Master in a closed loop with two 1" Sea Swirls. I run 1.5" PVC about half way up then split off to 1" PVC. Total of head is about 6 feet. I would guess I'm getting about 2100-2300 GPH. Certainly no more because each SS can only handle 1150 GPH. This along with a mag 12 for sump return is more then enough flow for my 150 gal SPS Clam tank......

I'm sold on the Amp master! could you tell me what kind of 1.5" fitting this pump has? I am now planning the plumbing part while I await the new pump and forgot to ask.

Mine came with screw unions for both sides. The other side of these unions were slip fit.

I'm not sure how Paul has his setup. I used ball valves as the first fitting on both ends of the pump....

Another pump to look at is the new Sequence Reeflo pump
called the "Sting Ray". Similar to the Ampmaster,but it is a more powerful pump featuring a semi-transparent impellor housing and silicon carbide seals.
