    skimmer dillema - - - please help

Ok so im new to this forum AND saltwater tanks. I am slowly developing my understanding of how things work but now need some help!! I have a 37 gallon eclipse ( i know i know) and just switched from crushed coral to live sand and plan on adding live rock in the very near future. My question, in attempts to get rid of the canopy and replace the light, what is the best way to skim protein from my tank? I have a glass tank so cant drill holes to make an overflow but need to know the best options....hang on skimmer? hang on box and a sump? More importantly what have you guys tried and what specific equipment have you used? im at a crossroads and need some help. THANKS

    Hi Cheech, welcome to ReefLand!

I'd say a hang-on skimmer would be your best option IMHO. As for a good one, I personally have no experience in regard but a lot of guys on here swear by the remora hang-ons. PM Parrothead or Steve McKay and ask for their advise, they are both great guys and a wealth of good information.

Good luck and please keep us aprised of your progress.

Forgot to add... Good call on getting rid of the CC. Sounds like you are on the right track!

Thanks for your reply. Im thinking now that maybe for the sake of saving space I will build a canopy to hide the hang on skimmer. . . . at least until I can build a new stand or figure something better out.

Look into either the AquaC remora or the remora pro, I run the remora on a very, very, very lightly stocked 55 gallon tank, depending on you bio load, I'd spend the few extra and go with the pro with the mag 3 pump
    Tanks,
