I am new to the hobby and just did my first "wet run" of my tank to see what needed tweeking last night. I found that I have a very minor leak where my drain line interfaces with the bulkhead fitting on the overflow box. The line has a smooth male connection that goes up into the female bulkhead. Nothing seems to drip to the floor but I am concerned that it may get worse and also I am very concerned about the possibility of the line just falling out and my overflow water "washing" my living room while I am out for the day.
Also I am getting a lot of air from the drain line into my sump. I lifted it above water level but the air is still very present. I was thinking of making a small standpipe to put in the box to at least eliminate the noise. Would that also help with the air bubbles?
Thanks for any help you can provide.
Gary
