Have you first determined why you have high Nitrates and PO4?

Your always going to have some kind of high or low nitrate or phosphate. With this turf algae. Keeps it and maintain low nitrate even over feeding and over fish. Also phosphate. Keeps at at low level were you don't have to worry about it. And its proven by biolagist. Watch video in you tube. They compare the newest tectnolgy to this kind of set-up the result is far greater than the new tecnology.

If you maintain your tank correctly you don't need chemicals other than to maintain the proper Ca,Alk and Mg levels.

If you maintain your fuge correctly you shouldn't need a algae scrubber. But I'm not saying that a algae scrubber doesn't work.
