One ampmaster should be more then enough for your tank. I'm guessing I get about 1000 gph through each 1" pipe. It might be a little less or a little more. I have my AM3000 open up all the way right now. I had it throttled down a bit until yesterday because it was throwing sand around, it seems to be ok now.

new possibility?
im thinking of re working my plumbing ideas.... i will convert the two returns into drains. that will give me 4 (1inch) drains, then i can run 1.5 inch pipes through the wall at the top of the tank and in. this would eliminate my 1.5 inch return issue and probably the drain issue of not having enough flow through them to keep up with the pumps. or should one clog up.

thanks

tony ,
im currently planning something similar,my new tank will have dual overflows with a one inch drain and 3/4 inch return pipe in each corner.my plan was to elbow both returns at about mid-water and to connect them underneath the tank to form my closed loop.3/4+3/4=1.5 right?maybe it wont be the same?anyone know?i was planning a ampmaster 3600 on two 1 inch sea swirls.
