Cascade 1500 Cansiter Filter

Hey guys, my friend just gave me a Cascade 1500 Canister Filter because he had no use for it anymore. I was wondering what type of filter media I should place in it. And also if someone can tell me the correct way of placing it for each level that would be great (like sponge, floss, etc)

I have a small Fuval 205 on a 29gal tank and only put one 12oz Chemi-pure bag, and a Small amount of Pura Phoslock in a nylon bag in it. No sponges or other filter media. For me it is basically a water flow device and chemical treatment.
