Hello all,
I am having a relapse, I was out of fish tanks for a while because I moved from college... a few weeks ago I decided .. on a whim.. to drive to Petco.. JUST TO LOOK!! a few hours and a few hundred dollars later I was sitting at home trying to put my stand together for my new 75 Gallon tank..
Currently it is setup fresh water and I have about 10 Mbuna African Cichlids... So far so good not to involved..
During a trip for work I had to go back to Williamsport PA .. where I went to college.. and I decided to stop at the fish store that enabled me to start up my first SW tank.. well a few long minutes later, after starring at the display tank, I decided I had the itch again..
This time I own my own home and I have a little more room to work with thus more options. Not to mention a little more mature and paitent.. So I am looking ahead and this time I want to plumb a sump in my basement. I also want to drill my tank for a stand pipe overflow, and also for a return.
I am thinking an old 55 gallon tank will be plenty sump for 75 gallon display tank ..
Enough babble .. on to my questions..
What size hole do I have to drill for a 1.5" bulk head?
What size return line/bulkhead should I run if I run a 1.5" stand tube?
What kind/size/brand of pump should I use to return water from my basement?
Thats all I can think of at the moment..
Thanks in advance for any info/ insight...
-KidFrost
P.S. Some pics of my old setup.. Oh I also still have that wet/dry that I plan on running in the drain line before my sump..
