Best filtration system for a corner tank.

Hey all, I have an all glass 54 gal. Corner tank (curved glass front). I've had it for years but had to Disassemble it because the filter failed . Only one fish remained so it wasn't practical toKeep the system running. I plan on restarting it, but I need suggestionson how I should filter it. Box filters are out of the question since there's not enoughRoom to hang it on the back. It originally had a fluval 304, but I'm not about to go down that roadagain. Should I give it up and go back to a more traditional tank? Thanks!

Pretty much what he suggested. But the more Live Rock you have the better the filtration.

So you're suggesting I abandon all forms of mechanical filtration and just use live rock and a skimmer?

Yup. I don't have anything on my 240 gallon tank, but 2 3200gph and 1 1200 gph powerhead and a skimmer. If your going with a bunch of fish you would need a big filter, other than that none is needed.

Well, I'm not sure what would qualify as "a bunch" of fish, but assuming I am, what mechanical filtration would you recommend that would be efficient but would fit a corner tank aesthetically as well as practically?
