Either of your choice. The 1000 is rated at 125g, and the xs 160 is rated at 160g. The Extreme 160 will clean the crap outta that tank, that would be my choice if it were me buying. So i'd get that one, so that when you do overstock your tank and add corals, you will not have to upgrade.

Bigger is always better for skimmers almost all of the time. I have a SRO xp1000sss in my 75g tank/30g fuge setup. Normally, the skimmer should be rated for twice your tank size but it seems that the Super Reef Octopus skimmers are better sized than other brands (IMO). My skimmer runs great even though I have it in deeper water than it should be and my nitrates are immeasurable even though I was overfeeding. FWIW, my fish stocking is on the medium side and I plan on keeping it that way.
