Compensate for loss of livestock?

Yesterday I had awoken to my Aqueon 72 gallon glass bowfront aquarium leaking. The leak was at the very base of the seam by the frame. The tank was only 10 months old. They are going to replace the tank, but i was curious if there is a way to pursue them for loss of livestock as i had 16 fish and 7 pieces of coral. All animals are fine at the moment except for my powder blue which contracted Ick which will surley be fatal. I moved all animals to a smaller spare tank at the moment but the replacement tank isnt supposed to be here till saturday. I know some say i should be thankful for them to at least replace the tank but if it were not for their poor construction on my tank i would not be in this situation. Any input would be greatley appreciated!

all warranties have terms, and companies protect themselves by spelling out what they will and wont do. let's look at this from a company's prospective for a moment. lets say you purchased a two dollar check valve that failed and killed everything. do they really owe you hundreds of dollars when you only spent a couple to begin with? with warranty, you are entitled to only what you paid for something. yes, it is a shame that the failure progressed further, but you will find they are only liable up to the point of what money you spent for thier product.
