    Heater Amps?

The heater that came with the used 72 bow front works. I am assuming for a 72 gal tank it is probably about a 200 watt heater. Any idea of the amps that would draw? I am trying to figure out if the 3 amp channel on my controller will handle it ok. Dumb about electrical. Thanks

200 watts @ 110 volts is about 1.8 amps. This is a fixed voltage assumption though. If the voltage is lower/higher, adjust accordingly.

    ie. watts/volts = amps

Thanks! I am trying to get all critical systems on the RKL. I consider those the heater, skimmer pumps (2) return and stream pump. Since I started with the basic RKL I will run my wave pumps on a stand alone wave timer I have for now and my lights are on a stand alone 3 channel timer. Later I will add a module to the RKL but for now I started this way:
    RKL channels :
#1= 8 amps-return pump and steady current pump
    #2=3 amps-200 watt heater
    #3=3 amps- refugium lighting
#4=8 amps- skimmer supply pump and skimmer bubble pump. Requires a supply pump for the SWC OCT skimmer.(recirculating)
