Not wanting to highjack another RO post so?

Local LFS that I am not impressed greatly with told me if I use RO instead of the local tap I had to supplement it when I do top offs to replace all the good trace elements and such.. If I do a regular water change isn't everything needed there? Assume I am using a quality mix.

LOL. Good old LFS trying to make a sale. You are absolutely correct Rick, your LFS is nuts. You do not need to top off with anything but your RO water. You replenish the Trace elements when you do a WC.

I think she was trying to justify the chromis die off. I told her I thought it was a bully situation but also found out she has been haveing them die off or DOA in her own tank or from her supplier. I just made mental note to be careful with her as from time to time I need the supply resource but another much more advanced and cleaner store is about 45 mins away and when possible I will do buisness there.

My tanks ph started dropping a bit and I did the same tonight. One hour later tested 8.4. I think I will need to test every other top off.
