Syphon overflow too slow for my pump
Hello everyone, I'm new to your board although I'm a member at Reef Central. I'm having a problem with my syphon overflow. It's not fast enough to keep up with my little giant pump. The overflow I have came with my Amiracle wet/dry which is now just an expensive plastic box without bio balls that functions as part of my sump set up. I've been having problems with this overflow maintaining syphon when power goes out as well as not moving as much water as I'd like it to.
I'm wondering if anyone here can tell me about where to pick up a better one. I know the best solution to my problems would be drilling the tank, but it's up and running and taking it to a glass shop is just NOT an option. What kind of overflows are you folks using, where did you get 'em and how much did you pay?? I appreciate any replies! TIA LARRY |

Larry,
You can get an overflow built right here at Reefland. I used a U-tube overflow for 10 years and never had it fail. I have a drilled tank now but then that's kinda hard to do when the tank is full ![]() |
