Pond Filters?
I just got a Supreme Pondmaster filter for a koi pond I'm working on and it gave me an idea. These things have tremendous surface area and both mechanical and carbon impregnated filter pads. I have a 90 gal with internal overflow (empty) I'm thinking about setting up as a fowlr tank for some drums I'm getting and I was thinking about using one of the pond filters in sump. The lower section is about 12 x 12 x 1" and vacant, maybe throw some bio rings in there and have myself a pretty good mech and bio filter for next to nothing. What do you think?

Good point. This thing is all plastic and snaps together but there are four screws that hold the lower grill in place. They can be eliminated.
You can buy the filter alone or in kit with Mag Drive pump, maybe it's wise to get pump seperately just in case Mag Drive makes two versions of pumps (although they look the same). Thanks. |
