acrylic or plexiglass for a sump?

Can acrylic or plexiglass be used for building a sump. I checked the local HD. They had Lexor and plexiglass. I don't know what Lexor is other than spme type of a plastic sheet. Sump size will be about 18x24x15. Just don't know if either can be used or not.
