The 4700 and 3600 may or may not have the efficinent motors on them like the ampmaster. They are soon to have that motor but make sure that you are comparing apples to apples. I would suggest the 3000, I am using 2 and they are very nice and will be plenty of circ for your 120. Mine is pushing 6-8 of head splitting into 4 outlets in the tank. I would guess I am getting close to 3000 gph at that point.

Will seaswirls handle 1500 gph ea? I thought they were rated lower than that. Also keep in mind the size of the plumbing from the ampmaster, best situation is 1-1/2" and if it seaperates into others keep the area equall or greater.

Paul, Welcome to reefland gald to see you wondered over here. I know RC can get a little snooty sometimes

organicreefer, like usual Paul has given you good advice. What size Sea Swilrs are you going to use?

I wonder why the Amp Master 3600 is cheaper then the Amp Master 3000 at Marine Depot?

Here's a better price from a better place on your Amp Master 3000

I still wonder why the 3600 is cheaper then the 3000. Slow down take it easy, wouldn't you rather do it right and wait a few extra days. The 3600 from MD is still more $ then the 3000 at RF. Think about all the $$ your spending on this tank, Your going to make a snap decision just because their out of it? Have a coke and a smile and relax

I have been down to Marine Depot one time and that was enough for me. Screw me once shame on you, screw me twice shame on me. I'll never order form them. From what I understand (very little) Reeffanatic was two guys at one time then they split up and one of them started MD. I do most of my dry good business with RF. Thier only 10 miles away.

Hec, I've been waiting for my Euroreef skimmer for 3 weeks now and its still not built. I could get another size but I don't want another size I want a CS6-3.

I wonder why the 3600 is cheaper also? better not ask and be happy. They'er suppose to have the same motor= ampmaster. Theres many different sizes now so should still be effiecent?? The seaswirls can only handle 1200max= 1" per seaswirl. They told me they know when it breaks from to much current and won't cover it on warrenty. They said they've tested for 3yrs and know most/all of the breaks that can happen?? So I would be careful on to much flow. But an ampmaster 3000 on a 1" y is 1800gph= 900each??On any y it would be reduced but I would still put a valve on it. I have 1190gph on my 1" seaswirl with the y on the seaswirl it blow alot of current. I wonder why ppl need more?

Yeah, I had to tweek my AM3000 down a little cause I was getting too much flow from my two 1" SS's. The strainer is nice and glogged up on he intake so I can open the pump all the way I got to do some remodeling while I'm on vacation so I can get to that strainer a little easier

Send a message via ICQ to Starmstr
When comparing the differences between the 3600 and the 3000 make sure to read the charts one is rated at 0 head and the other isn't. I was told by dolphin that the ampmaster 3000 actualy has better flowrates. And by the way the motor is the same until you get to the 4600 pump.

Flow rate maybe true but on there flow chart 3600 has more and they have them in ampmaster and regular aqua whatever. But I dunno. I would get the 3000amp master not the 2700. Its made to back off. I would rather have the extra juice. But the 2700 maybe good enough for your needs? But with all the fancy plumbing you can lose alot of flow.

Why is it that 4 - 1"strainers at Reef-Fanatic cost a little over $4 yet shipping the product 15miles cost $5?

And I thought these guys were flexible?

Hmmmm, I don't think Reeffanatic sets the rates on shipping. Its not like Bob's making a bundle on your order. You think he should ship it free?
