I use a 1.5" strainer from Reeffanatic....I'm not 100% sure but I think that spa hose is the same thing. I would double check tho

I got all of the 50ft of 1-1/2 flex I used on my tank from a spa shop. I paid 60 for a 50ft roll It is the PVC flex and the same stuff you will pay out the nose for at HD, or atleast mine. It was close to 2.50/ft their.

All standard PVC work with the pipe, make sure you clean it well before gluing.

organicreefer, If you haven't seen Paul's setup yet you should check it out. He did an outstanding job setting up his tank.

I'll look for the pics.

Try to use lots of unions and ball valves. You can never have too many

unions and ball valves before and after the pumps and unions before anything you ever want to maintance. spa flex uses pvc glue and the same fittings. You will use it in any application as rigid pvc. It is the best pipe IMO. When mixed with rigid. No hard bends. I've seen it in 1, 1 1/4 and 1 1/2

I have a ton of money in BV's and Unions and fittings in general. Yes solvent will work with the flex. I always use nothing but Heavy Duty solvent for anything I do plumbing related. Dont know if there is a real difference other than consistancy but it never hurts. PVC cement is cheap compared to fixing leaks

Hd is the cheapest on BV's and unions. The flex also adds a vibration dampnening to your plumbing keeping pump noise to a minimum.

Call a spa place for the 1-1/2" stuff its standard size for them, and if like here was WAY cheaper than HD.
