Circulation

I have a 90 reef with 2 MJ 1200's for circ. I don't think this is enough movement. Does anyone have any suggestions for another PH. If so what size and where to place it? TIA!

Smile More circulation

Well if you are dead set on PH's then I would get another couple of MJ 1200's and then also a wave strip to put all 4 on especially if you are or will be getting into SPS/clams....and if you got $$ to burn then you can send it to me....hehe j/j if you have more money to spend then I would get 2 seaswirls and take out the PH's cuz IMO PH's are just stray electricity waiting to happen.....especially MJ's Good Luck!

Scubadude, I can't drill my tank so how would I hook up seaswirls? I don't have any overflows either.

Just do the SS's on a closed loop

You make a U tube one end will be the intake the other end feeding a pump of your choice then the other end of the pump will feed the SS's

Smile Ok here is the best pic I could make to explain

Sorry I had to throw this together real quick....Let me know if you understand It now? Its actually an Upside Down U-tube to be exact ....see it on the intake side? The one thing you want to consider when setting up a closed loop is you are gonna have about 5'+ of head and if you have any downsizing in couplers, this will all restrict your flow rate....For example....I have 1 seaswirl its the 1/2" model and its setup on a closed loop on my 90gal tank the max output on the 1/2" is 550GPH However I put a mag 700 pump on my closed loop cuz I figured with my reducers and elbows and head that I would loose about 150gph....The idea is to get what you pay for....make the most of the seaswirl since you pay so damn much for them HTH
