ugly ,but effective......new sea-swirl inlets
well i didnt like the hose barb inlets that come on 1" sea swirls.first of all ,i dont want to use acrylic tubing, and second ,that so called 1"hose barb actually has a 3/4 inch hole
this is bad if youre using an ampmaster.so this is what i came up with i reduced to 1"at the last possibl point, and by unscrewing the union slightly, you can change the direction of youre inlet to match youre plumbing, not to mention the ease of unscrew and service.......check it out..... |

another ,if you used a street ell instead of a regular elbow it would be more compact

big lar, havent used them yet im still plumbing the tank.the reason i started with a union is because i dont have room to put it in line (ill show pics of the set up when its done),but in the process found it was a good way to have a 'turnable" inlet as well
if youre using an ampmaster i would change the hose inlet for sure, and use a 11/2 elbow, with a 11/5-1 threaded reducer.for my setup this is gonna work awesome,i just hope i didnt screw up making the u tubes for the closed loop they both have an extra elbow at the end before the intake,as the are plumbed through the sides of my overflow boxes,i hope it works. |
