my stand is done how does it look?

am now waiting for the tank to come
this is built out of 4x4 and 2x6 on the top 2x4 on the bottom

looks real good wuelfmann.what kind of wood did you use?what size tank?where you getting youre tank?

i still have to seal the inside and paint it
i also will have a 55 gallon sump inside it
the out side of the stand is red oak the doors are oak plywood
the stain is minwax wood stain
color provincial
then topped off with mccloskey man of war
MARINE spar varnish gloss (i like the shiney wet look)
i got the varnish from home depot
i have also seen it at orchard supply
the tank is going to be a 225 gallon
72long 30wide 24high

so ,you made the doors out of plywood with some corner trim ,it looks like?simple and looks good,i hope the outside of my stand looks as good as youres when its done.what are you planning on sealing the inside with?im about to seal mine with a two part epoxy i posted pics of my frame a few weeks ago and it has since been painted and primed a couple times and i do the epoxy probly tomorrow.

i will sealing the joints then painting it
my new TANK JUST GOT HERE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

new tank,right on congrats.i love when that happens yes lotsa pics/details.
yes two part epoxy my stand has to be the most overkill of all time the most important thing is im having fun ,im sure you are too

Very nice!

I see it is sitting on carpet. Do you have some sort of base screwed down to the floor for it to sit on to keep it from being tippy?

with the stand being 30 inc wide

wuelfmann ,once nealy 2500 or so pounds is sitting on that thing,you wont be able to push it over if you want to
