Cost to run AMP 3000

What does is cost to run an AMP 3000 per month?

How many watts does it use?

I think its something like 120-140 watts ..........so lets say its 150 watts at 0.12 per KWH it would be about 1.09 per month to run 24/7........mileage may very

Not quite.

How about 140w x 24hr/day = 3360w/day

3360w/day divided by 1000 = 3.36Kwh per day

3.36kwh x 31 days = 104.16kwh per month

104.16 kwh x .12/kwh = 12.50 per month to run.

I guess the "Caculator" over at RC is a little off No, it was I that wasa little off.

ive got a great idea ,lets not break down the prices on what costs what to run/month its depressing and just think the ampmaster is energy efficient

I know what you mean. I figure it cost 90.00+ a month to run my tank. That's at 0.10 per KWH

Yes they are off...but I think its just supposed to be a general idea....I used the SB calculator and it was telling me that I needed 400lbs to make a 4" SB in my 220g....I ended up using almost 600lbs
