two tanks on same filtration????
Has anyone done this or had thoughts on how to do this?
We have two FO tanks totalling ~100 gallons, a wet/dry and pump and skimmer rated for this much flow, plus plans to add a 20 - 30 gallon refugium to the system......... Come on everyone, get creative! well, either that or tell me I'm crazy. We've already drawn out about 5 various designs........the problem we haven't quite conquered yet is that of security measures to prevent overflows of any tank in the system. Any thoughts would be appreciated (other than those that require just getting a 100 gallon tank......funds don't allow for that )TIA!

I would think that as long as the sump (whether its the wet/dry or refugium or both) has enough capacity to hold the overflow from catastrophic power failure to both systems, you'd be fine. In other words, fill the whole system up and cut power to the pump and make sure it doesn't overflow. If it can handle both at the same time, then you don't need to worry.

YoHo
is pretty much right as long the sump can hold the overflow when power is there shouldnt be any real problems. |

I have a 95 fowlr and a 29 reef along with a mangrove tank , 40 refuge and a 40 gal water change out tub all connected to an Amiracle wet dry sump .The wet dry has been removed and I am just using it as a main intersection sump. It is overflow friendly also
(it is set up so it won't overflow).See it here : http://community.webtv.net/MarkPelsk...LTWATERAQUARIA
